A Mumbai sessions court Wednesday sentenced actor Shiney Ahuja to seven years in jail after he was found guilty of raping his maid.
Ahuja was arrested June 15, 2009, after medical tests on the maid confirmed sexual assault. The Bombay High Court had granted him bail in October 2009.
Ahuja’s maid had turned hostile in October 2009, which led to his release on bail.
Ahuja was accused of rape, criminal intimidation and holding his maid hostage, and faced a maximum punishment of up to 10 years in jail.

The veteran Bollywood actor Bob Christo, who had played the role of villain in films like Mard, Mr India, Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja and Gumraah, has passed away in Bangalore after a massive heart attack. He was 70.
According to the hospital sources, the actor, who had acted in more than 200 films was taken to hospital after he complained of chest pain. Though the doctors tried for a day, but they eventually couldn’t save him.

Popular film and television actor Navin Nischol has died. The actor, who was 65-years-old, reportedly died of a heart attack at his residence in suburban Mumbai today, March 19, 2011.
Nischol made his Bollywood debut with 'Saawan Bhadon' in the early 70’s with one of the finest actresses of Indian film industry, Rekha.
After working for several years as lead actor in Bollywood, Nischol moved on to television where he also managed to carve successful career, with appearing in immensely popular television serial 'Dekh Bhai Dekh', co-starring Sushma Seth, Shekhar Suman and Farida Jalal.

Zindagi Na Milege Dobara starring Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol and Katrina Kaif will the theatres on June 24. It is a film about three friends taking off on a fun filled road trip.
The movie has an elaborate scene with the four stars, Hrithik, Katrina, Farhan and Abhay taking part in the Tomatina festival of Spain where people throw tomatoes at each other.
The Tomatina that takes place in the month of August was recreated for the shoot of the Zindagi Na Milege Dobara. It was shot in Bunyol, Valencia, Spain. 16 tons on tomatoes were used for the shoot and they were flown in from Portugal, as the tomatoes in Spain were not ripe enough for the Tomatina. For the scene 24 tonnes of tomato puree was used. This costs the producers Rs 1 crore.

The Shahrukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer Ra1 has fetched the highest price ever for satellite rights of 35 crore just edging out the 33 crore figure for Three Idiots. The satellite market is buzzing with the three channels Star, Colours and Zee all prepared to pay big money for big budgets star studded films. Star has taken the rights for Ra1 which is the costliest Hindi film ever with a production budget of around 100 crore.
Its a sellers market for satellite rights with huge offers coming in for the big films. A film like Housefull 2 which is yet to go on the floors has also been taken by Star for a figure reportedly to be over 25 crore. Desi Boyz and Joker have been taken by Zee for similar prices.

The next Salman Khan starrer Ready due for release on 3rd June has fetched a big price for its Indian and Overseas theatrical rights. A major distributing concern from the North has paid around 55 crore for its Indian and Overseas theatrical rights including prints.
The P&A is to the producers account so the Worldwide distributor share will have to cross the 55 crore mark for the distributors to make money. The price may seem fair considering the last Salman Khan starrer Dabangg notched up a Worldwide share of around 90 crore but the 55 crore mark has not been crossed by many films, maybe around a dozen.

Abhishek Bachchan’s upcoming flick Dum Maaro Dum, will see him turn a rapper for a song. This is not the first time though. Abhi was seen as a rapper six years ago for the song ‘Right Here Right Now’ for director Rohan Sippy’s Bluffmaster.
Abhishek is back home after attending the Oscars in the US with wife Aishwarya Rai.
The Jr Bachchan tweeted, “Back in the studio after 6 yrs with chuck masta Sippy. Have no idea why he’s convinced that I can sing!! But Pritam’s killing it!!!!”
Well, the music for the film is being composed by Pritam.
According to a source, the song is a rap number with a groovy beat.
